This is a new feature on wordpress.  We will see how it works today.  Here are a few pictures of Squirt the Squirrel that we tried to nurse back to health.  He did not make it, but we all learned a lot about how hard it is to take care of a wild animal.  Click the link below to see the slideshow.  <table style=”border-collapse:collapse;”><tr><td colspan=”2″><embed src=”http://apps.rockyou.com/rockyou.swf?instanceid=61598106&ver=102906” quality=”high”  salign=”lt” width=”324″ height=”243″ wmode=”transparent” name=”rockyou” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash”

no-bullies.jpg   Today I will be speaking about Cyber Bullying in the fourth grade classes.  I would like feedback on what is cyber bullying, tell me about something that has happened to you, or share an idea about how to handle a cyber bully.  This can be anonymous or use a only initials or a screen name.  You do not need to identify yourself.

Everybody does something over the break.  Tell me about your Spring Break. Make it sound exciting or not.  Even if you are just hanging out with friends or going to see relatives it is interesting to see how different people spent their time.  You can even write and tell me what you would like to do some day.   If you have a great imagination tell us the most mundane thing you did and make it sound exciting.

I have a South American Rose-haired tarantula.  She seems easily agitated.  I am not sure with the crazy weather if she actually went into a hibernated state.  She seems jumpy and not at all like the spider we held last fall.  She has eaten lately.  She ate a pinky (mouse) last week.  I just gave her some crickets to mix up her diet a little.  She grabbed one almost immediately when he roamed too close.  She didn’t seem to start working the digestion process though.  She just seemed to sit with it in her fangs.  She usually goes immediately into pumping the venom in the victim.  I am not really sure how to explain her jumpy behavior.  I have had her 3 1/2 years now.  I still don’t have all her moods down.  Any advice or explanations would be welcomed.

Our pal, Squirt, did not make it.  We are not really sure why.  He died within the week.  We do know that wild animals are best left in their habitats when possible; however, with Squirt’s fall it seemed unlikely he had a chance unless we tried something.  Who knows, maybe he was sick to begin with.  Anyway, we learned some valuable lessons and a lot about taking care of wild mammals.  Taking care of wild animals can be a huge responsibility.  We can rest easy that we tried.
