This blog is aimed at the elementary school level.  It is primarily science based; however, there are other items of interest.  We would love to hear from anyone that wishes to participate.  Be sure to look at the blog rules to help you get a better idea of our purpose.  We are trying to better equip students, enhance knowlege at all grade levels in areas of vocabulary, language, science, and math.

Thanks,

Susan Rice, ITS

There have been many changes in the last few months. There are now three video clips. To access them you must click in the middle of the light green text where you see “youtube”. This is a website link to the newly owned google site YouTube. Anyone can make or film a clip and add it to the site. It can be viewed privately by only your family and friends or out there for the world to see.

My spider has molted, my frog died, and my fish keep having babies. That pretty much sums up the pet info this year thus far.

I soon will have more links to the blogs of other teachers and staff in the district. Each of these places can be references to get ideas of ways to blog in your classroom. Ms. Tumlinson had a blog last year as a classroom teacher, but soon will be moving her items to better fit her new job as an ITS.

    Ms. Rice,
We are from Garnet Valley Elementary School, which is located in PA. I stumbled upon your site a week or two ago and my students have enjoyed blogging on this site. My class consists of 18 students who have enjoyed responding to your questions. We work on your question independently, then read some responses aloud, and finally post a quick blog of what the class all agrees on.
We are currently finishing up the book, but I would like to work with you again in the future. I think blogs are a great way for students to express themselves and discuss their ideas.
We would like to hear back from you with some details about where you are and who are “The Rice Krispie Kids?” Is this blog through only your school district or are the teachers who have blogs from various school districts?
    From the students-
What school district and grade do you teach?
What state are you located in?
How do you know GV? Did you work with anyone here before?

Thanks and we look forward to hearing back from you!

Great to hear from you up in Pennsylvania. I hope you will read the email I sent your teacher and tell me more about the place you live. I have not been to that part of the US yet.
